Characterization of a Novel Lytic Salmonella Phage GF04 and Identification of yjiK_2 as a Candidate Phage Receptor

This study aims to characterize the genomic basis of phage resistance in a spontaneous Salmonella enterica variant resistant to Salmonella phage GF04. Whole-genome sequencing was performed to identify mutations associated with resistance, including potential receptor-related changes, and to compare the resistant derivative to its wild-type counterpart. The data generated provide insight into phage host interactions, mechanisms of bacterial resistance, and potential targets for the development of phage-based therapeutics.
