3D building models of Kuopio

Kuopio’s 3D building models include buildings in Kuopio’s plan areas in CityGML 2.0 format. The data was mainly produced from the air laser scanning data for 2007, 2019, 2012 and 2017. The accuracy level of the data is LOD2. The material has been modelled either from wall lines or eaves. The buildings modelled on the wall lines do not have real eaves, but the volume corresponds to the actual volume of the building. Wall line data is based on the wall line measurements of the base map. All buildings in the central planning area are modelled along wall lines. Räyss line modellings occur in the following agglomerations Vehmersalmi,Muuruvesi, Juankoski,Säyneinen,Tahko,Nilsia,Maaninka, Karttula and Käärmelahti. The volume of these buildings is larger than the actual volume of the building.

The material of the central plan area is maintained based on drone imaging and air laser scanning data.

The data are available in CityGML 2.0 format and DWG format (2007). The coordinate system of the data is ETRS-GK27(EPSG:3881) and N2000.
