Are anti-sticky costs endemic in the Arabian Gulf Region?

This dataset was employed to investigate the endemism of anti-sticky costs in emerging economies of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) countries by measuring the degree of adjustment between operating revenues and costs for companies in those countries. It includes panel data on operating expenses, sales revenue, current total assets, staff wages and salaries, and GDP in a sticky cost model derived from a Cobb-Douglas cost function to measure the percentage change in operating expenses due to a 1% increase or decrease in sales revenue. Our results from analysis the data in this dataset did not find evidence of sticky costs in four of the five countries.

本数据集旨在通过测算海湾合作委员会（Gulf Co-operation Council, GCC）新兴经济体中企业的营业收入与营业成本间的调整幅度，探究反成本粘性在该区域的存在性。数据集涵盖基于柯布-道格拉斯成本函数（Cobb-Douglas cost function）构建的成本粘性模型所需的面板数据，包含营业费用、销售收入、流动资产总额、员工薪酬及国内生产总值（GDP），用于衡量销售收入每增减1%时营业费用的变动百分比。基于本数据集开展的数据分析结果显示，五个样本国家中有四个未呈现出成本粘性特征。
