Dataset listing all species described in the first illustrated Flora of the Netherlands, the Flora Batava series published between 1800 and 1934. List of variables and their description: record.ID: individual identification of each record, assigned in a way to preserve the orther in which the species were published in the original material. volume: volume of the Flora Batava series in which the record is mentioned. volume.year: year in which the corresponding volume was first published. editor: editor responsible for the corresponding volume. publisher: name and city of the publisher of the corresponding volume. file.link: link to the corresponding page in which the record is mentioned in the original volumes held by the National Library of the Netherlands. botanical.division: general group in which the corresponding species is classified (Algae, Conifers, Ferns, Flowering plants, Fungi, Mosses, Sponge) [1]. botanical.family: family in which the corresponding species is classified [1]. species.name.raw: species names as described in the original text. species.name.current: currently accepted name of the species [1]. location.name: name of the location in which the corresponding observation took place. location.remarks: additional information about the location. lat.geocoded: latitute in decimal degrees attributed to the corresponding location [2]. lng.geocoded: longitude in decimal degrees attributed to the corresponding location [2]. coordinate.uncertainty: uncertainty (in meters) associated with the corresponding geographical coordinates [2]. date.raw: date as informed in the original text. day: day in which the observation was carried out. month: month in which the observation was carried out. year: year in which the observation was carried out season: season in which the observation was carried out, as derived from the date. observer.name: name of the person who observed the species in the corresponding location and date. observer.sex: sex of the observer ("unknown" used in when no explicit information was located). FLORON.person.id: individual identification number of each person according to the database managed by FLORON. additional.observer: additional observers associated with the corresponding record [3]. observer.type: relationship of the observer to the corresponding volume of the Flora Batava series (author, external, group, publication). habitat: habitat in which the corresponding species is usually found according to the original text. other.notes: additional information about the corresponding record.
