由于特殊的地形及气候，新疆具有丰富的牧草种质资源，几乎全世界温带地区的优良牧草在新疆均有分布。因此，新疆是我国乃至世界一个很重要的，有开发价值的草地种质天然基因库，搜集、鉴定和开发新疆草地植物资源，长期研究解决干旱、半干旱牧草品种问题是十分重要的。本数据库提供了苜蓿、红豆草、无芒雀麦、苏丹草等优良牧草的在新疆的分布范围、形态特征、抗逆特性以及图片等信息。数据信息会根据牧草种质资源调查的进展及时更新。

Owing to its distinctive topography and climate, Xinjiang is home to abundant forage germplasm resources, with nearly all high-quality forage species native to temperate regions across the globe distributed within its territory. As such, Xinjiang constitutes an important natural gene bank of grassland germplasm with substantial development value, not only for China but also for the world. It is critically important to collect, identify and exploit the grassland plant resources in Xinjiang, and to carry out long-term research aimed at resolving the issues related to forage varieties in arid and semi-arid regions. This database provides information such as distribution ranges, morphological characteristics, stress resistance traits and images of high-quality forage species including alfalfa, sainfoin, smooth brome, sudangrass and others in Xinjiang. The data will be updated in a timely manner based on the progress of forage germplasm resource surveys.
