Inverse design for FEMA P-58 loss of seismically isolated steel structures using Gaussian Process

1000 frames were generated and analyzed in OpenSees under a Latin Hypercube sampling uniform distribution on the design parameters. For each frame, configuration and design are randomly parameterized, and contents are populated via the P-58 Normative Quantity Estimation. Damage and loss analyses are then carried out using the SimCenter Pelicun tool. Designs were then identified to achieve two levels of performance (i.e. loss ratios or probability of triggering replacement), and these frames were validated using incremental dynamic analyses.
