This map gives an overview of the earthquake activity in Saxony. An overview of all earthquakes felt by people since 823 with a maximum or epicentral intensity of IV or greater is given. Data from all earthquake catalogues available for Saxony and the bulletin of the International Seismological Centre were used for the map. The spectrum ranges from the medieval beginnings of written documentation, where from individual reports the epicenters and maximum intensity can only be inaccurately derived to modern-day precise information from the interpretation of seismic registrations. The basis is a simplified geological-tectonic map with the most important geological units. Published in 1996, reverse with explanation
