Sinisan decoction ameliorates depression-like behavior induced by chronic restraint stress in aged mice

This study aims to analyze the gut microbiota structure and functional changes in 48 aged CRS mice using metagenomics, to elucidate the potential microbial mechanisms underlying Sinisan decoction's improvement of depression-like behaviors. By comparing microbiota differences between treatment and control groups, we focus on investigating whether Sinisan decoction modulates gut microbiota and their metabolic pathways , thereby influencing the gut-brain axis function. The findings will not only provide microbiological evidence for Sini Powder's antidepressant effects but also offer novel scientific insights into traditional Chinese medicine's role in treating mental disorders through microbiota modulation.
