Photograph of the San Gabriel Dam, August, 1937. Glass-like water flows between the mountains at center and the tree-spotted mountain in the foreground on the right. A road winds up the left side of the far mountain. Several long buildings stand at water level at center with the tall, incomplete dam behind them. The dam appears to be steps carved into a steep hill of soil. More mountains stand in the background behind the dam site.
