Evaluating the effect of euthanasia method on gene expression in eight different tissues of frogs. Frogs were euthanized through either an overdose of topical benzocaine applied ventral on the femoral patches and lower venter or double pithing. We generated tissue-specific transcriptomes including the tongue, stomach, intestines, ventral skin, dorsal skin, and liver from RNA extracted immediately after euthanasia.
