The authors of this article present an analysis of the experiences of documenting the process of making textiles in domestic conditions in the Republic of Moldova, including among Bulgarians from the south of the country. At the same time, some research methods and procedures are outlined here, which are most suitable for this type of study. Referring to the research instruments, the authors focus their attention on field research, bringing several examples of techniques used for their qualitative implementation. A case study is also presented, which illustrates, based on the example of the village of Stoianovca, Cantemir district (a locality predominantly populated by Bulgarians), the way in which funding can be attracted for scientific research on the traditional textile heritage of ethnic groups in the Republic of Moldova.
