A high dietary intake of salt has been reported as a factor affecting the development and severity of autoimmune uveitis. In this study, several aspects of this disease were studied in a mouse model, including the effects of a high-salt diet on the gut microbiota of healthy mice and mice induced to develop uveitis through immunisation.
