NRS-20195 | Record of Maintenance Orders and index [Griffith Court of Petty Sessions]

This series contains a record of papers from the Griffith Court of Petty Sessions relating to maintenance orders issued by the court. These maintance orders were mostly made against husbands or de facto husbands by women who had been deserted and were entitled to maintenance for their children under the Deserted Wives and Children Act 1901-1939, the Child Welfare Act 1939, and the Maintenance Act 1964. The series also contains a seperate index to the maintenance orders.The majority of the papers are titled, "Minutes of Orders from the Court for Maintenance", which gives basic details of case and the court's decision. Some cases also include papers titled, "Minute of Varied Order", "Minute of Order of Court on Appearance of Defendant to Show Cause", "Notice of Hearing", and "Minute of Order of Maintenance and Primary Expenses". On occassion, there may be correspondence from the Child Welfare Department, or from wives regarding their husbands' disobedience of maintenance orders.The papers have been glued into two guard books. Guard Book No. 1 was originally two books joined together by removing the back cover of the first book and the front cover of the second book. The books have since been separated again, and are individually wrapped. Guard Book No. 2 is still whole. The two index books appear to have been compiled at a later date to the guard books.

本系列收录格里菲斯治安法院（Griffith Court of Petty Sessions）作出的各类扶养令相关案卷记录。此类扶养令大多由遭遗弃的女性向法院申请，针对其丈夫或事实丈夫（de facto husband）作出，申请人依据1901-1939年《遗弃妻子与子女法》（Deserted Wives and Children Act 1901-1939）、1939年《儿童福利法》（Child Welfare Act 1939）及1964年《扶养法》（Maintenance Act 1964）享有子女扶养费请求权。本系列同时收录扶养令专用索引。绝大多数案卷标题为《法院扶养令纪要》（Minutes of Orders from the Court for Maintenance），其中记载了案件基本信息及法院裁判结果。部分案件还包含标题为《变更令纪要》（Minute of Varied Order）、《被告到庭说明理由之法院令状纪要》（Minute of Order of Court on Appearance of Defendant to Show Cause）、《听证通知》（Notice of Hearing）及《扶养费与基本开支令纪要》（Minute of Order of Maintenance and Primary Expenses）的案卷材料。偶见儿童福利部的往来函件，或妻子就丈夫拒不履行扶养令事宜提交的相关文书。本次案卷均粘贴于两册护装册内：护装册第1号原由两册合并而成，通过移除第一册的封底与第二册的封面后拼接；后续该两册已重新拆分，并分别进行了封装。护装册第2号仍保持完整。两册索引的编制时间晚于上述护装册。
