资源简介:
The project will fund a part-time (4 days/week) support person to maintain the Waterfall Springs breeding facility and to look after animal welfare for one year whilst longer term options for support are identified. Their role will include:
• Support the welfare of 50 captive animals that represent the insurance population for the species;
• Support the captive breeding program which is contributing to the survival of brush-tailed rock-wallabies by breeding animals to be released to the wild to bolster small colonies at high risk of extinction;
• Identify opportunities to release captive bred animals to the wild and track their progress;
• Support Waterfall Springs – a non-profit organisation working for the environment
• Work with ‘Friends of the Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby’ to achieve conservation of the species.
本项目将资助一名每周工作4天的兼职支持人员,为期一年,负责维护瀑布泉(Waterfall Springs)繁育基地,并开展动物福利管护工作,直至找到长期支持方案。其工作职责包括:
• 负责该物种50只圈养个体的福利管护工作,这些个体构成了该物种的保险种群;
• 协助圈养繁育计划:该计划通过繁育个体并放归野外以壮大面临灭绝高风险的小型种群,助力刷尾岩袋鼠(brush-tailed rock-wallabies)的存续;
• 发掘圈养繁育个体的野外放归契机,并追踪其放归后的生存进展;
• 为瀑布泉——一家致力于环境保护的非营利组织——提供支持;
• 与‘刷尾岩袋鼠之友(Friends of the Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby)’合作,推进该物种的保护工作。
