VPRS 15698 File Management Cards, Farm Water Supply Advances and Victorian Dried Fruits Grants

This series consists of file management cards for farm water supply advances under both the 1944 and 1946 Acts and cards for applicants for Victorian Dried Fruit Grants divided into those granted and those not granted. Details on the cards are the name and address of the applicant, the file number and details of the file management.The Farm Water Supplies Act 1944 allowed the Board of Land and Works to make advances to farmers for the supply of water to farms other than for irrigation. Advances were to bear interest and be repaid in a set term with mortgages on the property to guarantee these repayments. The Farm Water Supplies and Drainage Advances Act 1946 extended advances to the supply of water for irrigation and for the drainage of the farm.Further research is required into the date and legislative authority for the Victorian Dried Fruits Advances.
