Mistassini River Estuary – Characterization of Significant Shoreline Habitats on the North Shore of the St. Lawrence Maritime Estuary | L'estuaire de la rivière Mistassini - Caractérisation des habitats littoraux d'importance de la rive nord de l'estuaire maritime du Saint Laurent

A project to characterize important littoral habitats on the north shore of the St. Lawrence maritime estuary has been funded for a 4-year period (2023-2027). The aim of the project is to generate baseline ecological data to provide an overall picture of the state of littoral habitats along the north shore of the maritime estuary.

The dataset covers the estuary of the Mistassini River (municipality of Franquelin). To improve knowledge of this ecosystem, an ichthyological inventory was carried out and the various abiotic factors characterized. This project is part of the Coastal Environmental Baseline Program Initiative under the Oceans Protection Plan of Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
Un projet de caractérisation des habitats littoraux d’importance de la rive nord de l’estuaire maritime du Saint-Laurent a été subventionné pour une période de 4 ans (2023-2027). Ce projet a pour but de générer des données écologiques de référence pour tracer un portrait global de l’état des habitats littoraux le long de la rive nord de l'estuaire maritime. Ce jeu de données couvre l'estuaire de la rivière Mistassini (municipalité de Franquelin). Afin d'améliorer les connaissances de cet écosystème, un inventaire ichtyologique a été réalisé et les différents facteurs abiotiques caractérisés. Ce projet fait partie du Programme sur les données environnementales côtières de référence de Pêche et Océan Canada.
