Precipitation is the CRU 3.22 0.5° gridded dataset area-averaged over the 5° study region (117–122°E, 21–26°S, Fig 1). r is the Pearson correlation coefficient, R2Adj is the coefficient of determination adjusted for the number of terms in the model, RE is the Reduction of Error, CE is the Coefficient of Efficiency.
