The water depth and temperature data were collected in TOGA Area - Pacific (30 N to 30 S) as part of Tropical Ocean Global Atmosphere (TOGA) and Seasonal Response to the Equatorial Atlantic (SEQUAL) research project from over a dozen ships between September 29, 1989 and June 22, 1992. The originator's bathythermograph (XBT) data were submitted on two diskette by Jean-Paul Rebert, Institut Francais de Recherche pour l'Exploitation de la MER (IFREMER), Plouzane, France. The data have been converted and are now available on line in C116 Bathythermograph (XBT) and C125 XBT Selected Depths file formats of NODC.
