Fungal ITS2 metabarcoding reads from decaying Picea abies in southern Finland

We studied fungal diversity in downed Norway spruce (Picea abies) trunks in intermediate stages of decay in southern Finland. The aim of this study was to elucidate linkages between the quality of the dead-wood substrate and fungal community composition in urban versus semi-natural forest settings.
