Cadmium (Cd), a heavy metal with pronounced biological toxicity, exerts detrimental effects on living organisms. However, the mechanisms underlying the differences in cadmium tolerance among distinct rice varieties under Cd stress remain elusive. In this study, we systematically selected rice cultivars exhibiting divergent cadmium tolerance as experimental materials and subjected them to cadmium stress experiments. Subsequently, an integrative analysis combining metagenomics and metabolomics approaches was conducted to elucidate the comprehensive biological responses. This multi-omics strategy enables the simultaneous characterization of microbial community dynamics and metabolic pathway alterations associated with cadmium adaptation in rice.
