Male accessory gland including mating factors such as sex-peptide are major effectors of female post-mating behavioral and physiological responses which include permanent or transient cease of re-mating, stop of sex pheromone biosynthesis and calling, increased egg production etc. Results from this proposal will help us understand some fundamentals of the moth reproductive biology, and may provide practical basses for devising novel technologies on the integrated pest management of the diamondback moth.
