Genomics of Cyclin E Localization in Breast Cancer Cells. Homo sapiens

This breast cancer project builds on a well-established biomarker of poor prognosis from the production of low molecular weight cyclin E with cytoplasmic localization. The project is a collaboration between physicians at MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Genome Institute at Washington University School of Medicine and addresses key questions that remain unanswered about the genome- and transcriptome-wide differences in tumors that do or do not express low molecular weight cyclin E forms. We will generate whole genome sequence from breast cancers tumors and corresponding normal tissue of various molecular subtypes and cyclin E presentation as well as RNA-seq of the tumor transcriptome. In addition to the human tumors, we will produce similar sequence data sets with a newly developed mouse model of low molecular weight cyclin E breast cancer.
