King Chilli Capsicum chinense is very popular and in demand in the North Eastern states of India. The hotness of the chilli is well known in the world, besides the therapeutic and medicinal properties. RNA seq analysis was done in order to identify the genes involved in production of capsaicinoids and capsinoids. A total of 177251 transcripts were identified corresponding to a transcript length of 145775381 bp.
