资源简介:
Mice are used to study intestinal host-microbiota interactions and model human disease in infancy. How the gut microbiome changes during postnatal gut development with time, site, injury, and host genetics is unknown. Hypothesizing that host genetics and formula milk will induce dysbiosis associated with necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), a devastating disease in newborn infants, we studied microbiota composition in novel transgenic mice (SigirrMut) encoding the SIGIRR p.Y168X mutation we discovered in an infant with severe NEC.
