Images and Vector Graphics from a Building Recording Survey at North Entrance Changing Room, Chatsworth House, Bakewell, Derbyshire, September to December 2023

This collection consists of images and vector graphics from a building recording and watching brief by The JESSOP Consultancy Heritage Ltd. The work occurred at Chatsworth House, Bakewell, Derbyshire, between September and December 2023, during creation of a new changing room adjacent to entrance lodge in north wing. The recording has confirmed that the room was once larger in size, having been subdivided in March 1989 as evidenced by pencil names and dates inside the studwork partitions removed as part of the project. The earliest phase of the room recorded related to its late 19th century use with a corner Victorian cast-iron fireplace, stone flag floor and distempered lime walls. Later 20th century decoration obscured much of this earlier scheme, and further evidence of its development and use is likely to survive.
