Survey Data on Runaway Youth in Tokyo

This dataset supports the manuscript entitled “Toyoko Kids: Exploring the Psychosocial Backgrounds of Runaway Youth in Japan.”It includes anonymized, aggregated data collected from medical records and interviews of adolescents who presented to the emergency department with impaired consciousness due to overdose or other reasons and were identified as part of the so-called "Toyoko Kids" group—a vulnerable population of runaway youth frequenting Kabukicho, Tokyo.The dataset contains basic demographic information, psychosocial background factors, and clinical outcomes. All personal identifiers have been removed, and the data are presented in a form that ensures privacy and complies with ethical guidelines.Sharing this dataset aims to contribute to the understanding of social and mental health risks in marginalized adolescents in urban Japan.
