This piece was created from a desire to create a score for laptop and other electronic musicians to use a guide to sound manipulations. I was interested to create a “shell” or action guideline that laptop musicians could use to shape their own sounds and interact with them in the performance space. As such, the score is not so much about creating sound, but guiding it through different musical parameters. This was my first graphically scored work, following my work with text scores.

本作品为两位笔记本电脑演奏者(laptop performers)而作,创作于2008年。演出信息:《新奇之震撼》(Shock of the New)、《声谱》(Sound Spectrum),2009年于珀斯上演,参演人员为鲍勃·怀特(Bob White,笔记本电脑演奏)与詹姆斯·保罗(James Paul,磁带/计算机操作);《万物恒常》(Everything Always),ABC工作室(ABC Studios),2012年于悉尼上演,参演人员为乔诺·沃茨(Jonno Watts,笔记本电脑演奏)。“嘈杂无定形声场(amorphous soundfield)”——《实时杂志》(Realtime Magazine),2012年。本作品的创作初衷,是为笔记本电脑演奏者及其他电子音乐创作者打造一份用以指导声音操控(sound manipulations)的乐谱(score),笔者期望构建一套“框架”或行动准则,供创作者用以塑形自身声响,并在演奏空间中与之进行交互。就此而言,这份乐谱并非侧重于声响的生成,而是引导声响在不同音乐参数(musical parameters)间流转演进。这是笔者继文字乐谱(text scores)创作之后的首部图形化乐谱作品(graphically scored work)。
