Metagenomic sequencing of BALF from a pulmonary aspergilloma patient with RA Raw sequence reads

This project presents metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) data generated from the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) of a patient diagnosed with pulmonary aspergilloma. The patient had a complex medical background including rheumatoid arthritis (treated with the immunosuppressive biologic agent tocilizumab) and a history of pulmonary tuberculosis. The data was produced to support the etiological diagnosis of a rare fungal infection in an immunocompromised host and to illustrate the application of mNGS in identifying Aspergillus fumigatus in a clinical setting. The dataset includes paired-end Illumina sequencing reads, which may serve as a resource for studies on fungal pathogen detection, host-microbe interactions in immunocompromised individuals, and the genomic study of Aspergillus isolates from clinical specimens.
