PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide glass interleaving paper capable of reducing burn formation of a glass plate and a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: The glass interleaving paper contains a chemical pulp as a main component， has a sodium content of 0.03-1.0 mass%， a basis weight of 10-300 g/m 2， and a rate of a hardwood pulp occupying in the chemical pulp is 10 mass % or over. Moreover， the manufacturing method of the glass interleaving paper is characterized by that at least in one step of a manufacturing process and a papermaking process of the chemical pulp， a water containing sodium is used. Moreover， the manufacturing method of the glass interleaving paper is characterized by that a compound containing sodium is added at least in one step of the manufacturing process of the chemical pulp， the papermaking process and a process after the papermaking process.SELECTED DRAWING: None
