Washed microbiota transplantation improves patients with abnormal pulmonary ventilation function

AbstractBackground:The progression of chronic respiratory diseases (e.g., Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, asthma) is closely associated with persistent airway inflammation and declining lung function, yet current therapeutic strategies remain limited. Recent studies have revealed that gut microbiota regulates pulmonary inflammation via the "gut-lung axis"; however, its potential to reverse clinical lung function impairment and the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Washed microbiota transplantation (WMT), an optimized microbial intervention, warrants further exploration for its clinical applications.
