The sculptor
The sculptor, or designer, makes the statuettes to be placed in the hutch. They are made of oak or walnut. The wooden blocks are fixed on a bench of sculptor and maintained by claws in metal. At the roughing stage, the sculptor uses a hammer struck with a mallet, then, for finishing, he pushes finer gouges with the hands. Once made, the statuettes are a first time placed in the crib to adjust them. Brands guarantee the quality of the wood used. In Brussels, they are affixed by the jurors of the corporation of sculptors in the form of a mallet struck on the bare wood at the top or the reverse of the statues. Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
