5-p RACE-seq analysis of viral transcripts expressed by replicating Merkel Cell Polyomavirus genomes. MCPyV 5p-RACE-seq

Early or late viral transcripts expressed in PFSK1 cells transfected with Merkel Cell Polyomavirus (MCPyV) episomes were analyzed by 5-prime RACE-seq to identify transcriptional start sites. RACE products were mapped against the parental MCVsyn genome (GenBank accession JN707599). The start position of the reference sequence was moved to nucleotide position 3119 to allow mapping of RACE products which extend over the origin of replication.
