FreiRad questionnaire survey of parents and their children's cycling test

Dataset description +++ Survey motivation +++ A consortium comprising of the consultancies (1) klarFakt and (2) stape e.U. URBAN CONSULTING together with (3) Vienna University of Technology's Research center of Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering was commissioned by the Austrian federal Climate and Energy Fund to study the status quo of the Austrian voluntary cycling test for children. Within this study named "FreiRad - Voluntary Cycling Test for All Children" parents of school children were surveyed for their and their children's experiences with the voluntary cycling test. While this test is not compulsory, its successful completion allows children to cycle independently from the age of 10 onwards. In general, the Austrian road code permits independent cycling from the age of 12. +++ Survey implementation +++ The online survey was implemented using the online polling tool www.surveymonkey.com. For different distribution methods different collector URLs were implemented - leading to the exact same survey. The survey was disseminated to potential participants via following methods/channels: Through email addresses of all elementary schools that were provided by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education. School principals were kindly asked to distribute the corresponding collector among the parents of school children in the respective age group. Through emails send to the provincial umbrella organisations of parents' associations. Therein the parents' associations were kindly asked to distribute the corresponding collector among the parents of their schools. By sharing corresponding collectors over the consortium members' social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) and asking potential participants to participate and to snowball the collector to other parents. 调研动机
由咨询公司klarFakt、stape e.U. URBAN CONSULTING以及维也纳工业大学交通规划与交通工程研究中心组成的联盟，受奥地利联邦气候与能源基金委托，开展奥地利儿童自愿骑行测试（Voluntary Cycling Test for Children）现状研究。本次研究命名为"FreiRad——面向全体儿童的自愿骑行测试"，研究针对中小学生家长展开问卷调查，收集其与子女参与该测试的相关体验。该测试并非强制要求，但通过测试的儿童可自10岁起独立骑行。根据奥地利道路交通法规，一般情况下年满12岁方可独立骑行。

调研实施
本在线调查采用在线调研工具www.surveymonkey.com开展。针对不同的分发渠道设置了完全一致的调研链接。调查通过以下渠道触达潜在受访者：1. 依托奥地利联邦教育部提供的所有小学邮箱，邀请小学校长将调研链接分发给对应年龄段学生的家长；2. 向各州家长协会的伞式联合组织发送邮件，邀请其将调研链接分发给旗下学校的家长；3. 通过联盟成员的社交媒体渠道（Facebook、Twitter、LinkedIn）分享调研链接，并号召潜在受访者参与调研并以滚雪球方式将链接转发给其他家长；4. 在联盟成员的家长社交圈层中分享调研链接。

本次调查于2022年5月开放，为期10天。
