Seismocardiography-Based Estimation of Hemodynamic Parameters During Submaximal Ergometer Test

This dataset originates from a study that assessed heart function during submaximal cycle ergometer exercise by estimating key hemodynamic parameters. The methodology involved correlating time-domain features from seismocardiography (SCG) signals with parameters (stroke volume, heart rate, cardiac output, and cardiac index) measured by a PhysioFlow Enduro (impedance cardiography) device. Study population: The study included 60 healthy adults participants aged between 20-60 years old. Stratified into four BMI groups with 15 in each. BMI group 1 - BMI ≤ 18 BMI group 2 - BMI = 18-24.99 BMI group 3 - BMI = 25.0-29.99 BMI group 4 - BMI = 30.0-34.9 Summary of the experimental protocol: The YMCA submaximal cycle ergometer test was conducted to measure hemodynamic parameters. Prior to testing, participants were prepared as follows: Participants performed a 5-minute light stretching warm-up. The PhysioFlow Enduro and Shimmer3 EXG devices were then attached. Participants then rested seated in a chair (off the ergometer) for 5 min to stabilize physiology. Baseline hemodynamic parameters were recorded during a subsequent 7-min seated rest in the chair. Participants completed a 3-min cycling warm-up at 0 kp (kilopond; no added resistance). The exercise portion followed the standardized YMCA submaximal cycle ergometer test protocol, consisting of 2-4 progressive stages, each lasting 3 minutes:
