This register contains a summary record of all Conditional Purchase Leases in the Land District of Grafton, kept by the Grafton Land Office.This tenure was introduced in 1905. Leases which commenced prior to 30th December 1932 have a term of fifty years; leases which commenced after that date are leases in perpetuity. The lessee is required to carry out conditions as notified regarding cultivation, preservation of timber etc. A Conditional Purchase Lease may be transferred, but the consent of the Minister for Lands is required, and application may be made for conversion into a Conditional Purchase.This register records information such as the year and number of the conditional purchase lease, name and address of applicant, date of application and selection, date of receipt of application by Land Agent, date of confirmation and area confirmed, date of commencement of lease, name and address of transferee, date of transfer, date of letter notifying registration of transfer at Head Office, description of the land applied for, payments made including dates of payment including, survey fee, rent, including deposit paid with application, interest on late payment, appraised value of improvements and any further remarks.(Armidale, 41/5093). 1 vol.
