Teacher training and teacher quality are an important part of the education system, hence there is a need for new training programs for teachers to gain new knowledge and skills and to support their professional development.
In a quasi experimental study with 160 students from 16 classrooms (grade 1 to 5) we investigated the impact of teacher training in classroom management on burnout level in teachers and also students academic performance in class. Teachers of experimental group classrooms received training on classroom management, whereas teachers in control group classrooms did not receive any training in classroom management. The students performance was assessed both pre and post teachers training in Classroom management . Our findings show that teacher training was successful; the teachers of experimental group experienced less burnout post training as opposed to teachers of control group. Students in experimental group showed significant improvement in performance post teachers training compared to students in control group whose teachers didi not undergo any training in classroom management.
