UPSC Study Dataset

This dataset contains complete data from a cross-sectional study examining distinct mental health vulnerability and resilience profiles among 160 Indian Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) civil service examination aspirants. Using cluster analysis, the study identified three distinct psychological profiles based on patterns of loneliness, perceived social support, and grit (perseverance), and examined their associations with life satisfaction and mental health quality of life.
Three distinct clusters emerged: (1) Vulnerable Profile (26.3%; high loneliness, moderate support, low grit), (2) Resilient Profile (32.5%; low loneliness, high support, moderate-high grit), and (3) Moderate-At-Risk Profile (41.3%; high loneliness, low support, high grit). The Resilient profile demonstrated significantly better outcomes on both life satisfaction and mental health quality of life.
