This map is the "Map of Snow, Ice and Frozen Soil in China at 1:4,000,000 Scale", compiled by Shi Yafeng and Mi Desheng. The working base map used for compilation was the "Hanyu Pinyin Edition of the People's Republic of China", which retained the original hydrological and mountain feature annotations, and added supplementary mountain-related cartographic notes. The compilation of the frozen soil section was based on actual survey and exploration data of frozen soils, interpretation of remote sensing imagery, as well as air temperature conditions and topographic characteristics that affect the formation and distribution of frozen soils.
