Census of Population and Housing, 1980: Puerto Rico Public Use Microdata Sample A

<p>This file contains stratified 5-percent samples of housing units and the persons in them, as enumerated in the 1980 Census of Puerto Rico. The items contained are roughly comparable to the Public Use Microdata Samples (PUMS) for the U.S., except for housing items such as bath and toilet facilities, electric lighting, tenure, and type of construction. It also contains differing personal items, such as residence, parental birth place, ability to read and write, and vocational activity. This PUMS sample A identifies Puerto Rico and various subdivisions termed "county groups," each with 100,000 or more inhabitants. These units include four individual large municipos and four subdivisions of San Juan municipo.</p>
