RNA-seq of cave snail Physella sp.

Cave mollusks are an understudied group of organisms adapted to subterranean environments. To support research into the evolutionary mechanisms underlying their adaptations, we have generated the first genomic datasets for a cave-dwelling snail. This submission includes RNA-seq data from morphotypes with different pigmentation levels of Physella sp., collected from Fogelpole Cave, Illinois, US. These datasets provide a valuable resource for investigating the molecular changes associated with cave-specific traits, such as the loss of pigmentation.
