This study aimed to understand the genetic basis of environmental adaptation for multiple species of sunflowers. We did this by whole genome resequencing ~1400 samples from Helianthus annuus, H. petiolaris and H. argophyllus, while also measuring their phenotypes in a common garden. Analysis looked to associated genetic variants with traits and environmental conditions to understand how local adaptation occurs.
