资源简介:
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a growing concern owing to its contribution to mortality rates globally. The project emphasizes on molecular characterization of pathogenic bacteria and its epidemiology. The focus is on transmission dynamics of AMR from fish and its environment to human. The pathogenic bacterial isolates of E. coli, klebsiella sp. and staphylococci were characterized for antimicrobial resistance genes, virulence factors, phylogeny and molecular epidemiology based on the whole genome sequence data. These isolates will be further compared with those recovered from animal, poultry, environmental and human settings to elucidate the genetic relatedness. The study is in relevance to "One Health" approach as stated by WHO that includes food safety, antibiotic stewardship and public health.
