Hungarian Forest–Policy–Environment Dataset

This dataset provides annual, nationally aggregated indicators linking forest loss, environmental conditions, forest management, economic context, and policy signals in Hungary mainly over the period 2000–2024. It was developed to support empirical analyses of forest disturbance dynamics and their institutional and governance context. The archive contains processed tabular datasets (CSV) and a reference Python script reproducing the baseline and incremental regression analyses reported in the accompanying study. The script illustrates how environmental, management, economic, and policy variables are combined and evaluated using sequential model specifications. The dataset is intended for reuse in descriptive, econometric, and comparative research on forest governance, environmental policy, and forest disturbance monitoring.
