Research data supporting: First-in-human pilot study of snapshot multispectral endoscopy for delineation of pituitary adenoma

This dataset and code repository accompanies the publication “First-in-human pilot study of snapshot multispectral endoscopy for delineation of pituitary adenoma” accepted for publication in the Journal of Biomedical Optics. This repository includes results from 13 trials, MATLAB analysis scripts, image region masks, and pre-compiled spectral data. This README provides an overview of the folder structure and function of each file. The data presented here were obtained through a prospective pilot cohort study was carried out at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Cambridge, UK, which was approved in August 2018. The MAPS (Multispectral imaging of Adenoma during Pituitary Surgery) trial was designed to address one primary objective and one secondary objective: (i) To evaluate the appearance of healthy pituitary tissue and pituitary adenoma at multispectral endoscopy to build a library of useful distinguishing characteristics since these are currently unknown and not easily investigated using ex vivo tissue; (ii) To assess the feasibility of imaging with the novel multispectral endoscope in endoscopic transsphenoidal pituitary surgery.
