Using automated Malaise trap multi-samplers designed in the AMMOD project, the occurrence of pollinator species and their associated plants was monitored synchronously at two contrasting field sites in Germany: an urban botanical garden and a forest research station. Species were identified by metabarcoding of insects and plant traces present in the preservative ethanol of the insect samples.
