The Altun mountains is located in the northern edge of the Tibet Plateau. It is the boundary of the Tarim Basin and the Qaidam Basin, which is bounded by the Dajinshan pass and the upper reaches of the Qiemo River. Glaciers in the Altun Mountains are subcontinental glaciers and polar continental glaciers. The boundary and length are two vital parameters of one glacier, whose change can directly reflect its advance and retreat, and indirectly characterize the regional climate change. Based on the Landsat OLI images and SRTM DEM, the boundary and glacier length of glaciers in the Altun mountains in 2016 were obtained by means of manual visual interpretation and glacier centerline method. The dataset contains two parts: 1) glacier boundary vector data in the Altun Mountains in 2016; 2) glacier length vector data in the Altun Mountains in 2016. This dataset reflects the boundary and length of glaciers in the Altun Mountains in 2016 and can be used as the basic data of glacier change and regional climate change research.

阿尔金山脉(Altun Mountains)地处青藏高原北缘,是塔里木盆地与柴达木盆地的界山,其范围以大金山口与且末河上游为界。该山脉的冰川分为亚大陆型冰川与极地大陆型冰川两类。冰川边界与冰川长度是冰川的两项核心参数,其变化可直接反映冰川的进退过程,间接表征区域气候变化特征。本数据集基于陆地卫星OLI传感器(Landsat OLI)影像与航天飞机雷达地形测绘任务数字高程模型(SRTM DEM),通过人工目视解译与冰川中心线法,提取得到2016年阿尔金山脉冰川的边界与长度信息。本数据集包含两部分内容:1)2016年阿尔金山脉冰川边界矢量数据;2)2016年阿尔金山脉冰川长度矢量数据。本数据集直观呈现了2016年阿尔金山脉冰川的边界与长度信息,可作为冰川变化与区域气候变化研究的基础数据。
