资源简介:
The Experimental Survey of Teacher Assessments: Parental Incarceration and Race (ESTA-PIR) is a cross-sectional study of teachers' evaluations of a student and their work in the United States. This survey was fielded between October of 2020 and March of 2021 to a sample of national teachers recruited from each state. In the survey, participants were randomly assigned a student biography with experimentally altered student race and parental incarceration status. Participants then completed a series of typical tasks for teachers, including grading a sample of student work, assessing the student's competency and college potential, referring the student to academic or socio-emotional support, and responding to behavioral incidents. Participants also answered some basic demographic questions. The data archived here present a unique opportunity to study how race and parental incarceration shape teachers' assessments of a student's college potential. <br>
