VPRS 12230 Index to Opinion Book of the Crown Law Offices

Under Section 51 of Audit Act 1857, Treasury was required to obtain advice from the Crown Law Offices upon questions arising in the course of its duty upon the legal aspect of matters for which there was any doubt or where the Treasurys opinion was disputed.This series consists of a subject index to copies of such cases maintained in VPRS 12229 Opinion Book of the Crown Law Offices. It lists subjects of opinions previously sought from the Crown Law Office and the page numbers they appear on in the above mentioned series.

根据1857年《审计法》（Audit Act）第51条规定，财政部在履行职责过程中，若遇到涉及法律层面且存在疑问或其意见存在争议的事项，须向皇家法律事务局（Crown Law Offices）征询法律意见。本数据集系列为保存于VPRS 12229《皇家法律事务局意见书簿》中的相关案件副本编制了主题索引，列明了此前向皇家法律事务局征询的各类法律意见的主题，以及上述档案系列中对应条目的页码。
