VPRS 12124 Register of Applications, Orders or Conversions of Debentures

From the establishment of the Victorian Debentures, Redemptions and Loans Act 1892, the public were given the opportunity to invest in Government debentures at a prescribed price, which would accrue interest for the investor over a prescribed time period of up to thirty years. Debentures remained available by 1922 under the provisions of the Victorian Government Debentures Regulations Act 1912.This series contains details of applications for debentures, orders from particular Government Departments that were authorised to distribute debentures, and details of debentures that were converted. It provides a day to day record of receipts and expenditures related to these debentures.
