CO₂ emissions from coal and lignite mining in the United Kingdom 1990-2022

Carbon dioxide emissions from coal and lignite mining in the United Kingdom dropped 5.6 percent in 2022 to 280,700 metric tons. Annual CO₂ emissions from coal and lignite mining have fallen by around one million metric tons since 1990. This is a result of the UK's shift away from coal as an energy source.
